Improvements in Monarch 10.5
Monarch 10.5 includes a number of enhancements and bug fixes as shown below. Please note that Monarch V10.5 is a free upgrade only for Monarch V10 users and the free download requires an earlier installation of Monarch V10 or V10.01. If you have an earlier version of Monarch, you must purchase a full upgrade.
Monarch 10.5 Network Upgrade
For Version 8 and earlier Monarch network updates, it has only been necessary to upgrade the server. However, for V10.01 and above it is necessary to not only update the Server, but also individual workstations. This is necessary because the new Excel functionality in Monarch requires each workstation to re-register the required .NET assemblies. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause.
Please note that the two step installation process refers only to Network versions of Monarch. Standalone/single user versions of Monarch continue to need only one step to update. If you are unsure whether or not you have a network version of Monarch, please ask your System Administrator or click on the add/remove programs icon in your control panel. If you have a network version of Monarch, it will say so in your list of programs. If the listing for Monarch does not contain the word "network", you have a standalone/single user version. If you do have a network version of Monarch, your System Administrator will need to install the Server Admin portion of the update before you can install the User Workstation update.
Enhancements:
10.5
- Monarch Context™ functionality introduced, allowing the inclusion of report files in an XLSX/XLSM export.
- Support for adding digital signatures in XLSX/XLSM exports.
- Changes introduced to Open Report, Open Model, Open Project, Open Database and related dialogs to support Windows 7 and Windows 2008 R2.
- More PDF import enhancements, based on customer files with significant internal issues with respect to the ISO 32000-1 PDF specification.
10.01
- Added new Table Verify check - Invalid Calculated Field.
- Reinstated LOG function. It has been in Monarch all along, but heretofore it did not appear in list of functions in the expression editor.
- Text export format (fixed-length or delimited) can now be specified.
Bug Fixes:
10.5
- Footer information is correctly captured for reports where footer information stops mid-report but detail data continues. This issue was introduced in Monarch 10.01.
- Fixed an issue with SetRuntimeParameter method prompting inappropriately in automation. This issue was introduced in Monarch 10.01.
- Fixed an issue related to the 'text qualifier' for delimited text imports (both database imports and external lookups). The text qualifier can be double quote ("), single quote ('), or none. The problem was that a text qualifier of 'none' would always get switched back to a double quote when reading a model containing that setting.
- Exporting XLSX or XLSM to a SharePoint location under certain conditions would fail. This has been corrected.
10.01
- Various Excel Export bugs fixed.
- PDF Import improvements, including when opening from files from HTTP sources.
- A change to the input encoding (e.g., ANSI, ASCII, UTF-8, etc.) of a delimited text import wasn't being preserved upon saving the model. This has been fixed.
- The fixed / delimited format of custom named text exports is now properly retained.
- Column offsets > 999 can now be edited in the Field List dialog.
- Find in Table now works correctly when double quotation marks are used.
- Improved compatibility with Monarch Data Pump as regards saving of projects.
- Miscellaneous bug fixes.
- Error message added for certain cases when the internal database size of Monarch has been exceeded, but no error message appeared.
